Question Regarding Armor Procs

Weapons with (Combat) effects proc when they strike.
Breastplates proc when you're hit.
Boots proc when you kick.
Gloves proc when you punch.
Pauldrons proc when you slam (I believe, as per Mantle of the Scorned).

Now, my question is, when do bracers proc?

I recently came into possession of Sisera's Darkmesh Wristguard. Amongst other things, it has an effect of Rune I (Combat). I've heard several conflicting reports regarding when bracers roll their proc chance (everything from spellcasting to throwing weapons and firing arrows), but I haven't noticed it go off in the regular course of my daily activities or raiding.

Might anyone know?

For a pure melee class, would clicky items or a combat weapon proc going off have a chance of proccing a bracer? or is it just casters casting a spell from their menu?

It will probably only be pure spells which trigger it. It's kind of a cool little armor feature meant for casters more than anything. Clicky items definitely shouldn't(and won't if it's reported that they do) trigger it because some clicky items are instant recast and no mana cost/cast time.
