Question on zone exp mods

I was noticing a few people talking about negitive mods in some zones. I thought this was an error, at least I was hoping. So after fishing around the forums I found this month + old post and now have a few questions about it.

http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5062&highlight=exp+mod

First off, is it still in place? I have seen little to no reference since. Then again I am still newer to forums in general.

Second question is what the time based on? The question was asked but never answered in the old post. Is it based on the "Auto Attack = on" or just being in the zone and killing one mob starts the timer for that game session? Does it ever stop once you leave that zone?

I am only asking these questions because it will change the way I am XP'ing. I am one of those goobs that like to xp slow and causally. Solo'ing is about do because I am afk so much. Best for me is to find a rarely used couple of spawns and just kill them till they are LB or green.

Anyway, thank you for any information!

This post (from the requests forum) contains some more information. It's now based on how much xp you've gained in a zone, not on the time it takes you to get that xp. So xp as slowly as you like. :)

And yes, the negative modifiers (neg 10 and neg 25) are very real.

Enjoy!

There are 3 mods:
-Innate race mod
-Zone Experience Mod (ZEM)
-old/new experience mod

After awhile int he zone your xp mod will begin to tell you it is in the negatives for being in the zone for an extended time, but it is entirely possible that you are still getting above average xp from the ZEM of the zone itself.
