Question on potions

Last time we killed the Haunted Treant, we were only two healers, and I used some greater mana potions to keep up till the end of the fight.
Curiously, after 2 drinks, it seemed I could not drink any more of it. I was using the hotkey, but it didn't seem to make any effect: the potion was not drunk.
Is there a kind of "recast" time after drinking two potions, or may I have been lagged? Or any other answer really.
 
Thanks for the notice. I really have to use my potions at the start of the fight if i want a reuse then.
