Question Halas Beastlord Quest

I decided to belatedly start this quest and have done the spear, bracers and gloves. But the next two at least also require "metal studs". I see no "metal stud" recipe in the Wiki. So, is this just any kind of stud?

Oh, the wiki also says "Sold By: Mic McMacson at Mac's Kilts". But I did not see that last night. Does he randomly carry it at some times but not others?

I would appreciate some advice on this one. Do I just need to keep going back to Mic, work on smithing and make iron studs or am I on the wrong track here?

I believe the studs required for this step of the quest were changed. Yes, originally they were bought from the smithing vendor in Halas, but I think that now they are the iron studs made from smithing, trivial at around lvl 20. Any smither can make them for you, or you can easily make them yourself as a beginner blacksmith.
Try that, and then post back here, if you would, so that we can all know if that, in fact, is the new recipe, and then I'll update the wiki to reflect the changes. Good luck.

That indeed is the answer. I was able to mine the ore fairly easily and make the studs. Then it worked just fine.
