question bout melee shaman

Would anyone group with a melee/dps shaman endgame? or do shamans only take rolls as healer/buffer?

healer / buffer. But there is no reason you cant swing your 1 hander / spear between heals /slows/ mala / and canni.

You wont hit too much, but you'll look cool doing it :toot:

Seriously though, there is no such thing as a 'melee shammy' such as you might have in WoW for example. It's fairly cookie cutter here.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that "dps" is a good thing and some of your poison spells are quite nice if you have the mana to spare.

With certain weapons i've seen a shaman melee but it was mainly for shits and giggles. A shaman constantly dotting is much better dps

Cool, thanks for the replies. I never played a shammy in WoW (i hated that game), but back when i played the Game I always wondered if it were a possibility.

Oh.. thats why everytime i logged my shamy in he was with the spear....

Btw i never landed one hit with my shamy, and he have some nice skills :(

You can melee with a shaman, but since you don't have proc buffs of your own nor double attack you'll do terrible damage melee wise. Shamans can be fairly versatile really buff, debuff/slow, heal, dot/pet, root and w/ torpor or the improved version of that line of spell you can tank damn decently depending on the mob or mobs.

Actually shamans do have self buff procs. Divine Rage AA is a melee proc, with 3 levels to purchase... however it's really a waste of AAs if you expect it to make you melee worth anything.
