Question about today's Harmony update

Could someone provide clarification on:
Harmony is now AE and other similar spells have better functionality.

What exactly does better functionality refer to in this instance?

By other similar spells I assume you are talking about the entire calm line? http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Category:Utility_Detrimental:_Calm_spells

Harmony was already a targeted AE, well technically anyway. Does this mean it will actually hit npc's if they are within the area of effect even if you are not on their hatelist?

Previously, Harmony and Wake of Tranquility would only land on the mob you had targeted due to the way Targeted AEs work. They only hit mobs you're on the aggro list of, which defeated the purpose of the spell.

They now work as you would expect; if you cast it on a mob and up to 2 others are nearby, it will land on all of them.

Are resists for each mob in the AE calculated independently, or collectively? In other words, if the mob I've targeted doesn't resist, will it automatically land on the others, or are there separate resist checks for non-targeted mobs?

Other than the fact that it lands on mobs you're not KOS to, it behaves exactly like any other Targeted AE spell. So yes, it will still have the usual resist checks for each target it attempts to land on.

Great. I've been wanting to use Wake for a while now. No spell parser here at work, but I'm assuming the duration for Wake of Tranquility has the same duration as pacify and isn't set at 0 like before?
