question about the 2 starting books and letter

when i started my characters i was unaware that we NEEDED to keep these items to start the main quest line. is there a way to get them back since i destroyed them or am i just going to have to skip the main quest lines or restart my character (something i am not very fond of having to do)?

any response on this would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance
 
You can buy them in the Erudin library for (if I recall correctly) a few gold, or, you can just create a new character, get the books, 2box that character and your main, and referr to them there while you do the quest. Once used, you don't need them again. The note doesn't need to be turned in, it only tells you who to go to to begin the quest for your class.
 
o ok thanks. the way the beginner guide in the tome of knowledge made it sound, i thought you had to turn in the 2 books and the note. if its just for reference then np at all.
