Some rewards from some quests do not match up to specific classes. This is not EQ where every quest is completely available with all dialogue/text/items handy for you.
I had a simple (seemingly) idea. What if the NPC giving the quest compared the reward usable classes to the one offering to do the quest?
"I am sorry, %T, but you may not find my reward to be something you could use. If you like though, I would gladly have you help me though."
A second part to this is maybe let the quester know if the item is no drop.
"%T, my reward would only be for your hands. It will be enchanted to respond to only your touch."
This would ensure that those doing the quests would definitely be able to use the item, and if they can't use the item themselves, it would let them know if it is something they could pass to a friend.
