Quest NPCs

Where do the low level quests begin for new players. I just started on WR last night. The only NPCs I found in the starting cities were vendors and trainers. Where/when do I encounters quest givers?

Best method is the old school method.

Start Hailing anyone and Everyone. Get a Pencil and Paper and write down who you encounter, where they were, what they wanted.

Hit the areas that are of around your level. The other starting cities for example (if they're not KoS to you), zones you hunt in, etc.

Reminds me of old RPG days. :)
 
Doh!

I forgot that you need to "hail" the NPCs to find out if they have a quest or not. Been away from EQ for too long...
 
Yep, no pansy Exclaimation marks, Question Marks, flashing neon signs, hand waving, or talking to you as you walk by in this game. You gotta work for it. :p

Although I do like the improvement WR made in questing. No need to phrase a question just right using the [] phrase. You just type the text in the []'s to continue. Not quite as 'immersive' but then alot less hassle.

Who says there's no NPCs wandering around that might give you a quest if you get close enough? :)

Okay, there aren't, but I plan on putting some in eventually for city quests.

Not all quests will have keywords in brackets. There will be some that part of the challenge is not only completing the quest, but figuring out what to say to the NPC.

Granted most of these types of quests will be higher level, as newer players should be introduced to the quest system with brackets so they can get a general feel of finding NPCs before having to get used to figuring out what to say.
