After completing the Iksar Monk quest "Lessons of Earth" with the NPC Disciple Galus.
After turning in the required materials, he said the drivel about being attuned with earth and gave me leggings and a sash.
However, he also returned all the items which were required to do the task:
2x Alligator Scales
1x Steel of Earth
1x Stone of Earth
I doubt you could do the quest again after getting the items back (I didn't try), and the sell price to vendors of two alligator scales isn't very large, it's still an error.
