If your like me you might have alot of characters, and you might not know all of them. If the E-Mail verification method worked before why not put it back up instead of getting rid of the email verification and replacing it with the character option? we want the both options! [please :)]

go to your EQ directory.
sort by name
UI_Charactername.txt <= look for a whole bunch of those
Those are your characters.

Maybe a daft question but how can i see what accounts have what chars? Or is it a guessing game? Iv got 21 chars on 2 accounts :sadf: [i deleted some thats why theres so meny]

Right done it lol, was to tyred to think lastnight so i just asked but i looked on formelo and deleted all the UI_charname.txt that didnt appear, i took the names down from one of my accounts and that left 7 chars. And then just got it down to 4 chars thro knowing what classes they were after than added them, put account name and pass in and woot woot done :D

P.S. yous didnt come up with an answer... so theres one if you cant remember them lol this needs to be a sticky lol

Would it be possible to make it so that if you remember 3/4ths of your characters, or all characters over a certain level, then you can change your password? I remember all of the characters I've played past level 10 or so, but hell if I can remember the name of a test character I made ages ago, on a different computer.

Gah...

Farbauti, if you can't remember all of your alts (trust me not everyone can hence the alternate method) you can use the alternate PW recover method ...

Pick a main character from each account and brainstorm key things. In example, send an email to [email protected] and list your account name, desired password, characters you can remember from the account, and something from your inventory/bank (not worn), or the plat you have in your bank, or a tradeskill you are working on and the skill level achieved etc in order to confirm account ownership. Where you are bound and/or what zone you logged off in is helpful information as well.

I did it the way that Jayelle descripted, and it worked, I thought of something that I knew one of the characters in each account had in their bags, and where some of the characters were logged out, and got a email back in no time even tho I did not list all characters on each account. For example, one good thing would be to say if you have some quest that you are working on and carry some intermediate no drop object for it in your bag. No one would know that, but you.

I just want to say thanks to Jayelle, who helped me greatly with my accounts, even though I had a lot of trouble remembering stuff about my characters when I last played them (like a year ago). Very cool GM.

My characters aren't much, but its nice not to have to start over.

I am having this same problem. my husband and I had 2 accounts each with one toon each account. We havnt been online since about Feb. He cant really remember his except for his toon's names and passwords but I remember my toons, screennames (one of which is this one) and the passwords. I know the email i verified under and nothing is working. I know i didnt have very high lvl toons but still i had some nice things on them i really wish i could get back. Has the verification been buggy lately? I mean my password and name worked for the forum but its not for the game 8o/
