Does Dex affect procs on weapons? I've seen it posted that it does and that it doesn't?

The website FAQ says
Q: What role do stats play here? I heard they worked differently.
A: The stats have properties as follows:

Dexterity: Helps determine how well you can hit your foes in melee.


If increased DEX increases your chance to proc it might be beneficial to add that to the FAQ, and I personally would like to know.

I read that dex affected your chance to hit...my question is this -

Why is it my atk went up when I was str buffed but when I was dex buffed nothing happened?

Not sure - but could it be that ATK and Dex are both separate checks or at least factors in chance to hit?

Str factoring into ATK because ATK also factors into Damage Dealt.

In my tired mind it makes a little sense - of course later Ill probably be smacking myself for saying such.

Lucifer, I assume Dex acts much similar to AC, but the reverse. It doesn't change your HP, but it changes how much you mitigate. The reverse would be that dexteritr doesn't affect your attack number, but increases your chance to hit.

ATK isn't relevant to your hit chance. It determines how much the damage multiplier of your weapon's damage is.

Ah okay. I always thought ATK was your "to hit" chance when you swing and not related to damage so much. Was it this way on EQL? Not that it matters. I'm just curious.

So if I have this right, we do contact v avoidance, and then damage v mitigation.

My chance to contact the white rabbit is a function of:
my level, my dex, my weapon skill (not sure on that last one.)

The white rabbit's chance to avoid the contact is a function of:
its level, its agility, its defence skill (not sure about that last one)

I have struck the white rabbit!

The damage that I do is a function of:
weapon damage rating, my strength, my weapon skill, my atk bonuses

But that damage will be mitigated by a function of:
its armor class

Do level differences work directly into the damage calculations? Into the hit calculations?
Does defence skill affect avoidance or mitigation?
Have all these questions been asked many times before?

Will the White Rabbit kill Willaena?

With a quick Google Search I found the answer that ATK does NOT factor in chance to hit on Live as well.
