Problems after character select

When I try to log on, I select my character, it goes to the next screen (with the EQ logo screen) and sits there. For 2 hours so far. System says EQ is still running (task manager says "running", not "Not Responding"), but it isn't using any CPU time.

I uninstalled everything, installed, patched, etc. Still the same problem. Any ideas?

same problem

Hi, I have a fresh install of Windows Media Center 2005, fully patched, and installed the Everquest Platinum (7 expansions). I patched to Live, and then patched with WR patcher and installed the hotfix. I was able to play for nearly 5 days without any problems, and then now I cannot get past the server login screen.

1. Download this: http://www.wintersroar.com/files/WRFix.zip
and put that in your EQ folder. C://programfiles/everquest

Do not put it in any subfolders. Just drop it out on to the main folder.

Try that.

2. If that doesn't work try downloading the files directly from here: http://wintersroar.com/files/PatchFiles.zip


3. If it still doesn't work, rinse and repeat step 1. Sometimes it takes a few tries for some reason....
