Problem with my Skill list

I just recently got an old account restored that i started 2 years ago or so. I also have a account i made a week ago. Both the accounts are wood elf druid.

As you see with the newer character i don't have the specialize skills under my skill list, but i have the hide skill that starts at 50. With the older character i have the specialize skills but not the hide skill. And neither of the accounts have the mining skill under them. Now i can understand why the newer characters don't have the specialize skills under there skill list seeing as there is a command to see them. But what about my older account not having the hide skill. What i want to know is if there is a way to get the hide skill to show up under my skill list on the older account. And maybe the mining skill too. I will more then likely be using that account seeing as its higher lvl and i went through the trouble of emailing and getting it back. I also want to know about these books that new characters start with. I didn't look at them too much, but i did notice them saying they are important for some quest. My older account don't have these books, and it doesn't seem like something you could get playing the game. I also have a little noobie question concerning hide and forage. It seemed like neither of those skills were going up in lvl, although i didn't really use them constantly. But as i see on my older account forage is at 132.

I doubt this matters, but i had the game patched and installed up to luclin with the older account. With the newer account i started a week ago i used the anniversary edition also patched to live with the bonus texture pack.

Basically what i am asking is this...

Is there any way to get the hide skill and mining skill on my older account to show up

Are those books you start-with with newer characters important, and if so, where can i get them

And can forage and hide go up in lvls, or are they capped at 50 now

1) There probably isn't. Wiz must've managed to remove some skills from skill window, since I can see all the old languages too.

2) Yes they are for MQ. You might be able to get them from MQ or buy them in Athica. I'm pretty sure I saw them somewhere, but I really forgot where. Otherwise you can just create an alt and log him on while you're doing MQ and read from that book instead (you don't need to turn them in, so that's what I did on my toon)

3) They are race skills so they're stuck at 50. You'll get your forage as a druid, though, try training in it at a class guild master.

You might be able to get them from MQ or buy them in Athica.

You can buy them in the Erudin Library....

Hide will be capped at 50, since it's a race skill, and not a "druid" skill. Your forage is up to 132 on your old char, so not sure what the issue there is... it honestly just takes a while to get a point. Try using it more, and it will go up.

Mining is an "added" skill in SoD, and will never show up on your skills list, no matter what race, class, anything.

As far as stuff "showing up", which is really just hide, and will never go up (so kind of a moot point). I'd rename your default skills UI files, then repatch. You can rename the entire folder to defaultold or something...
