Problem at Char Select screen

When i load up to the character select screen it is all messed up. I cannot click anything, the only thing i see is a level 0 human, name is load, and it says loading and the background is all screwed up. I waited for a while and nothing happened, anyone else had this problem?
 
I had the same problem. What worked for me was I CTRL-ALT-DEL then let the taskmanager load, then double clicked the everquest program and then the cursor worked after that. Still having problems with a blank screen when I log into a character.

Oh, if you double click the EQ program then a blank screen pops up, hit the ENTER key. Had that happen once.
