Hi yall, I just cam eback from a long hiatus. I hopped onto my necro, found out about the mana regen/med changes. That's cool, no problem.


But then I found out about the FD nerf. I'm talking about this situation: I sink all of my mana into 1 mob to bring him down, my pet is about to bite it but the mob will die first. All's well. ALl of a sudden, I get jumped from behind by some lowbie mob, but i'm unable to do anything to him. My natural recorse? FD. I Feigned Death, and stood straight back up not 10 seconds later. The mob dies 10 seconds after that..and i get NINTEY FIVE PERCENT of my exp docked? That's unreal! I did WAY more damage than that before FD hit.

I'm not a sensationalist. Nor am I a troll, but I feel I have just logged out of SoD for the last time. One of my necro's main draws for solo'ing is ocmpletely gone.

I'll check back later, but I highly doubt this nerf will be lifted.

Your FD mem wiped the mob - meaning you lost all credit for any damage you did prior to the FD. You basically get exp credit based on the damage you do to a mob, so if you engage a mob at 5-10%, you're only going to get that much of the exp that it's worth.

The alternative to FD was dieing, right?

So FD allowed you to turn a death into a 5% kill-credit.

IIRC necros get mezz root and a DA. Try keeping one of these up at all times it would have made the FD point moot.

Also, you decided to leave SoD after this one problem, and did you even test it to see if it was consistant? Or did you ASK if it was a bug, or intent? You seem like you didn't want to play SoD in the first place.

The penalty was intended to prevent you from bringing a mob down to whatever % and finish it off with a lowbie alt - the penalty was implemented to prevent you from PLing with FD.

I don't know if the calculation is correct but besides it sounds correct :/

My bet is simply on the standard "the creaky wheel gets the oil" approach (read: empty threat because it makes you look all important and stuff). From what I've seen so far, it works woooooonder with Wiz. :roll:

This is a bug which I will fix, but the "oh god its ruins the world im quitting GOODBYE just posting before i quit i just quit quittin' now quitalit" made me want to just trash the thread.

Try going without that part next time.

I really thought it was a bug it happened rather randomply to me, depending on zone or even mobs I was fighting.
But as I understand you want to prevent FD PLing, it's gonna be hard to find a compromise fix... But I have faith in our beloved admin !
For the moment, fellow necros , please just keep DYING kkthx.

Ok, I regret telling everyone that I'm quitting.

But um, you may not see me anymore, because of a lack of signing in?

Also, I did some testing on mostly LB mobs just to see what's up. I got a LB-to-63 slime down to 10%, losing 5% health per tic. I FD'd and instantly stood back up, (pet still attacking) and recieved a 97% penalty.

I tried this repeatedly, with the same results. In actuality the first time this happened, I Fd'd just to drop the extra agro i generated by dotting the mob. My pet couldnt hold agro, so I fd'd and stood back up...and lost my exp ;0/

I verified, best I could, that it wasnt a bug, by asking a "guildie" who just happens to know alot about the development of the game, hint hint.
He suggested I post here if I wanted to bitch about it, and I guess I did.

Come on Wiz said it's broken, just roll someone else (or better bot an inactive from the guild) until it is fixed that's all ! Necro isn't always fun, especially when FD is borked but just do another one, like Maldoro left his necro for a beastlord (temporarily).
