Please more Pre Raid Level Melee Shields

I don't think this is the proper forum for this request and would probably be better suited for Classes and Gear forum.

I agree though, more shields!
 
Actually, I'm pretty sure this is the proper forum for such a request. And the original post had a point, there is a serious lack of un-raided even 25+ AC shields to be found, and in the later grind-game low-AC shields are of dubious degrees of usefulness. An influx of easily obtained 45-50 AC+stats shields would be crazy, but some 30-ish AC stat shields or 35+ AC no-stat shields obtainable within reason(outside of the raid-game) would be nice.
 
I'm not aware of many options between shield of the frozen caverns / pally starfall and the equivalent and tier one raid stuff: arena lord's protector and za`yth shield, and the cmal 3 shield which probably can't be obtained by any group that isn't geared at least at the tier 2 level. There's also the SK only shield, shield of defilement or whatever, but that doesn't help pallies (or wars) much. I imagine there are one or two others I'm not aware of, but let's face the facts: shields are one of the most underrepresented slots.

Any comment on whether this big gap is intended, or whether there's a chance of getting some more put in?

I would suggest having tradeskilled shields at the mithril, warpmetal, and deepmetal levels, having a tmap shield (maybe easy or moderate-level gear), and one or two from mobs--maybe something in the high 40s-50s range and another in the 60+ range (eld's castle or outer FG type difficulty).
 
yes they can, tink. but SoFP takes so long to get, you'll be at LEAST tier2 by the time you finally get it. if you want to farm for it instead of doing the quest, you'll need at least a tier2 soloing class to get that much cash in any reasonable amount of time.

Forgot the Radiant Crystalline Shield(3 orc teeth, Thurgadin quest), which is a substantial upgrade over the quested shield that most players doing this particular quest have in their possesion at the time(Obsidian shield, Oggok quested), but is still very lonely among the list of un-raided shields.
 
Yeah, good point. I think that's the one intermediary step between 25ish AC available in the mid levels and 40+ AC available from lower tier raid mobs. I don't know the details of the SK only 40ish AC shield, but it might be a second one.
 
after posting this i did find the radiant crystalline shield (ac 35 35hp/mana 10 cold)
which was a big upgrade

Shield of Defilement seems to be really rare, once i got the plat to buy it :)
from what i was told it is from a low/mid level raid mob (Melwin the Malicious)

SKs need a dropable shield in the ac50 range
readd Rock FIsts or something :)
