Playing SoD and Emu at same time?

How do you make it so you can separate the directories so that you can play both? I have SoD already obviously, but cant get the dics to install fresh files in a different spot so I can play an EMU if I wish to. The discs automatically detect that I have the EQ Files and just ask to repair them and what not, won't just load them elsewhere.

I would try a repair from the discs and then use THAT dir as a EMU directory that you never modify/patch. Copy as many as you need from that dir and patch to SoD or whatever. If a repair doesnt take it back to current EMU playability then uninstall, reinstall and then copy from that dir.

The disks are actually searching for the uninstall entry from the registry. This is not advised if you don't know what you are doing (I take no responsibility for screwing up your uninstall information), but the registry entries for 32-bit installs that will allow you to reinstall if deleted are in:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ (search for "the game")

Although this method works for me, again if you don't know what you are doing, don't try this.

There may be other ways of approaching the problem, such as copying a fresh install from another computer, or copying to a new directory, uninstalling, then copying back to the original directory.

What I did was move my SoD folder to an external HD then turned the external drive off while installing a fresh copy. Obviously it wont be able to locate your already existing SoD folder and thus allow you to install rather than just repair/modify/whatever.
