Plat drops on difficult treasure maps

For the last few months my guild <Ancient Crusade> has been leveling, gearing, and learning off treasure maps. With the ability to gain good exp in raids, something not found in live, this has been a great start to prep us for tier 1 content.

Some weeks ago we broke into Difficult treasure map land. This was very exciting as the loot is substantially better than moderate maps. Unfortunately, the difficult maps are dropping the same amount as moderate maps: 300-700 plat. This amount is fine and dandy when mod maps cost on average 500pp, but at the price of 1.5k or more for difficult maps it puts us in a 'difficult' situation.

There are other options to come up with the cash, but in terms of guild progression I see little reason for moderate maps to drop the same amount as difficult maps considering the steep jump in price. (not to mention difficulty) I am requesting that the progression of plat from moderate to difficult maps be reviewed so guilds trying to make a start in Shards of Dalaya continue to have as great of resource as Very Easy, Easy, and Moderates have been thus far.

Thanks,

Naethyn

The "plat progression" as you put it IS significant between mod and d maps. In fact, max money drop is double from mod to d.

Looks like just RNG giving you a hard time.

I remember doing a whole crap ton of D maps and I have to agree. It's more then just the RNG. If you pay 1.5k you are almost guaranteed never to make that money back. Even if you pay 1k I wouldn't hold your breath on making that back either. The bigger story is the loots your getting from them. They are worth more then 1 - 1.5k anyways.

But yes and I totally and completly agree with you. You wont ever get your money back out of them. The wise thing would be to have someone in your guild with a lot of spare time to fish. Eventually you will have a supply of free d and vd maps for your guild. That will be the only way you will ever ever make coin from them.

Think of it more as experience and decent loots for your guild. Alot of that stuff is better then tier 1 raid gear anyways.

Well, if the market decides that paying 1.5k for a dmap is too much, then the price will likely drop over time. I dont think its appropriate to adjust plat drops to guarantee that they guarantee a return on investment, because then the price will just go up.

I thought of this when I saw some crazy number I think it was close to 700 for a mod map. RNG o_O maybe the spread of the drop could be lowered.
But yeah basically if players pay that much for Dmap - if you notice, about as much sometimes more than VDs - it's because of the loot AND the quest item which is , of the 4, the most difficult to get (haha difficult hmm ok). The tmap quest rewards are very good, and upgradeable to VERY VERY good stuff. Priceless, although tedious.
I wouldn't see this really changing. The plat drop is adjusted linearily I suppose from VE, so it's not surprising. This is still a good investment , don't be put down because of the raw cash (sometimes you get some shiny gems too btw).

Agreeing with this, also I'm not really sure I see a reason for killing Difficult treasure maps a self-sufficient enterprise, the gear is pretty rewarding and the quest rewards (especially with the new upgrade option) are amazing enough without being able to purchase an endless copies after acquiring a single one.

Considering the rewards you can get from them if you have people in your guild that needs them 1 - 1.5k is ok.

It's mostly about the loots and the quest piece that drives the market.

If you don't have a fisherman to get you free maps it's still a win if anyone in your raid can use the loots. I guarantee you wont find any items that are not no drop with compareable stats for 1 - 1.5k ea, and you get 2 loots per chest anyways.

I see Difficults and VDifficults going for 1000-1200 all the time. In fact, I haven't even seen one auctioned for 1500 for several months. If you pay the right price, you will make a fair profit indeed.

So then they are worth 1.5k and there is no reason to increase plat drops on them.

I don't see a problem here.
