Plane of Water names.

TapeinV

Dalayan Elder
We hit up Plane of Water to mess with the new content and what not and ended up killing Prophet of Tarhansar. Most of PoWater is pretty fun, and I want to say very nice job on designing the zone. The one major problem we encountered was nearly every mob being wall bugged to hell. It was kind of diffcult on pulls and what not, but definately do'able (although we are quite beyond the content..so I guess that factors in on it). I am asking if there is some way to fix that, maybe by having levitate on the mobs or something.

The other thing was the loot, which was far below (in our opinion) PoTorment/NDHK/PoAIR level. We got the tiara and earring. Prophet hits for a max of 1000 and does a 1,000 AE pretty often, as well as mana drain at 10% or so.

Thanks,
Tape

First keep in mind that the loot scheme is not 100% set in stone and a good majority of items already have tweaks incoming the next patch.

The tiara and the crown have low stats compared to pretty much everything else in the zone since they both have aura of balance on them (Flowing Thought 2 and Regen 2 combined). If you still think they are a bit low for the lvl I am more than willing to boost them up a little bit as long as your keeping in mind the FT2.

About the pulling I know that its a pain in the ass atm due to the pathing system being non existant atm. As a quick fix next patch will have mobs running alittle slower and having lower aggro radius's. Hopefully this will help until the pathing system is reenabled.

yea i agree with tapein about the loots, the crown and earring seemed underpowered even with aura of balance on both of them, there are mobs in poair and torment that are similar in difficulty that drop much more desirable loots. Otherwise the zone is pretty fun.

Okay. Talked to a few people about the difficulty of the encounter and such.

Next patch will see an upgrade to both items to make them more in line with the difficulty of our giant green friend.

if he drops FT items, and the FT is something you really want on there woldaff, then i'd suggest making his fight a bit longer. the last few seconds of the fight were suprising and fun... but it wasn't something many people would find difficult, even with less AAs and Gear than the group we brought.

If you feel that prophet isn't challenging enough to warrant a loot upgrade, then i don't think that the solution is to give him loot that won't be in high demand. We really dont need more NDHK Wretchs in the game, no matter how easy the mobs being fought are.

I think you misread me Aaubert. I reviewed the earing and the crown and decided that they could use improvements. I overestimated the drive that the FT would have on both of them. Next patch will show both of them with more stats and a bit more mana hp.

As for the difficulty of the encounter I believe that its about where it should be. I withhold most of my judgment until I see a guild like Aeternus Dandy or Empire go after him since they are more on level with where a guilds progression should be for PoWater.

word. the raid we went with was about 1/2 dandy, and 1/4 steel, 1/4 others.

I'm a bit suprised at the lack of love for the FT. I'd say its a fairly even call between an ft2, 40 mana earring over an ft0 80 mana earring. (But i guess thats the issue. thunder/scale earrings drop off trash, and this is a raid mob.) 60-70 mana on the ear would be wonderful.

Thanks for the time and consideration Wold.

Er, what?

Ft2 + 40 mana will beat 80 mana in 20 ticks, or two minutes. Raid fights range from "longer than that" to "a hell of a lot longer than that".

a raid fight that lasts longer than 6 minutes is truely an epic battle these days, cant speak for upper thaz but everything else should be under the 6 minute mark when done properly and alot are even less than that.

10 mana every minute is nice for FT but I would take higher max mana over it, but maybe thats because im a necro

there are more reasons to want mana than "sustained ability to (nuke/mez/heal)".

Like what? As long as you cast at the beginning of the fight and then don't let your mana hit full, you're getting maximum use out of your FT.

burn fights. mana burn. fights with big mana drains.

None of that in any way stops FT from working. If the fight is shorter, then FT isn't as good. I suppose if you get your mana boneyarded and the manadrain is keeping you at 0 then FT isn't helpful, but I'm having a very hard time imagining a fight where that's supposed to happen.

FT is not special. It's just mana that happens to be a function of the length of the fight, as opposed to regular mana, which is what it is regardless of fight length. For XP work, FT is something else entirely, but for raids, FT isn't that much different than raw mana.

At least at the tier these items are ft in xping/soloing >>>> ft raiding. Will ft totally beat ass on 20 minute fights? Yeah sure it will, though I think the longest fight I've been on so far was around 3ish minutes (keeping in mind my guild is exactly the correct tier for the drops in question)? I've actually had xp group fights that lasted longer, but only because of a truly hilarious amount of mobs in camp.

When I first heard the effect I said "oh wow, thats the same effect on the zirvane mask". I was then informed of the stats. The resounding opinion in teamspeak (pretty much my whole guild was there) was "well fuck that". But pretty much if there' good loot to be had, we'll go after it, if it's meh or comparable to something that isn't as much of a pain in the ass to get to, then we won't.
