Pick Pocket

What's the best way to get skill ups for this skill? I remember in live, training it on mobs during fights was simple, but SoD doesn't seem to give skill-ups for this (or in my experience, not once in 50-100 tries)

The Rogue Quests in NP require you to pick pocket items, so it'd be nice to be able to actually do this.

Ok, had some luck, but that "guide" wasn't much help.

I was doing a quest in Mistwoods, and picked on all the Bandits out by the house. propped my skill up pretty quickly. Not sure why it worked so well on them and not anything else like the Gnoll Pups, but I'm not complaining.

I've had my best luck with skill ups stealing from the citizens and merchants. I can get a couple skill ups on my little crime spree on my way to the bank, where as I'm lucky to get one by pick pocketing from mobs I'm fighting.

With my rogue I made a simple macro.

/attack off
/doability X
/attack on

Throw in /pause 1 anywhere you think it needs. When I group, if my skill is not max, I ask if it is ok to train it. If my skill is maxed then I don't. If you are not maxxed then you should be PPing every mob you fight as long as no one gets mad at you.

I was going to try a macro, but most of the time after I pick, I get a "You cannot use that command [any command at all] right now" which lasts anywhere from a few tenths of a second to 2 seconds.

I personally seem to get more skill ups when I target humanoid mobs. I don't know if thats a fluke or not though. I couldn't get any real skill ups in places like Blackburrow and Warrens but Shrouded Isle gave me loads of em.
