Pets

BL pets, maybe even mage/necro pets resists do not scale enough, especially at the high end.

I suggest making pet resists improve with companion health and/or companion strength.

This will not OP them at the low end, and will bring them up to par for the high end/raid game.

Would have to agree with this. However how to exactly go about it is another story. We're already a very focus reliant class. A nonstackable buff might be in order for example. But there's been many suggestions on ways to do it in the past.

Would it be possible to do something like add resists to an already imporant focus for pet clases? (companion health maybe?)

Well thats the thing. It's been said before, both by various members of the aforementioned classes, and various staff members, that none of us are chomping at the bit to make those foci even more important than they already are.

Mages for example out of all the foci, have no need for 3 of them. That's it. All the rest range from useful to reasonably important (1 being slightly useful (reagent, its a remembering thing), another being moderately (duration, tmap rings, pet hate buff (short duration), etc) the rest are all very important).

Thats a hell of alot of gear balancing. Elemental forms get suggested often as a way to do it, among other things in the millionty threads referencing this topic.

Increase Keshuval's Protection buff?

only takes care of beasts though. Mage's don't even get the targetable resist line (except in clicky form)

Wasn't this the point of the ranger and beastlord shelter buff for pets? 50% avoidance seems pretty sweet to me.

NGL, we're experimenting with a share resist mechanism, likely part of a future tome. Conceptually it works, but if you summon a pet while Pot4 is pulsing it keeps those resists lol. Oh the little quirks of the system.

what about mage summoned armor, thought i read that in sod pets have ALL armor slots so they should be able to equip armor with resists if i where the devs to keep the new entry of spells down maybe just do it in sets, for exp, Resists armor, Tank armor (hp/ac), Scout armor (dex str atk) so only like 3 spells needed to be added to players spell books (summoning items might take a bit more database work) but each set would include Helm,bp,legs, arms, hands, face, range, back (btw i don't know if theres a limit on how many items you can have on our mouse at the same time)

i have some more ideas about how to adjust that to work but wanna hear what devs got to say so far before i do adjust it

Sounds like a pretty good system to me, you should just leave it like this.

I like this, but it would require a shit ton more clicking and hadning over armor than I think any mage would want to do.

Stealing shamelessy from this idea though...

What about an enchatner buff, 20 mintue duration, pet only, that adds a shit ton of resists?

At the lower end grouping most definitely, as you're more likely to heavily rely on your pet for tankery, and less likely to be able to save him. On a good bit of raid encounters you're likely to lose him (hence why very few people eeeevvverrrr buy armor for pets).

Though a bp with a proc would be neat, albeit completely a separate issue.

This is perfect.

I like the summoned armor for pet idea. I don't usually buy or make armor for my pet, due to the likelihood of dying, but I would spend a couple plat for a bag of pet armor. As I recall, the spell on Live was for a bag of armor. I would be content with just one kind of armor with added resists and AC.

Edit: hmmm won't show the full link due to the name of that game...
The spell on Live does this:
1: Summon Item: Phantom Satchel
2: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Plate Helm
3: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Breastplate
4: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Plate Vambraces
5: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Plate Bracers
6: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Plate Bracers
7: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Plate Gauntlets
8: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Plate Greaves
9: Summon Item (in bag): Phantom Plate Boots

I'd personally not be against more summoned items for pets by magicians, but maining a necromancer with a Magician brother, I'm biased.

I agree that pet resists need fixing and glad it is getting looked at. Another idea to help with pet resists, focusing maybe on the beastlord, is a raid-wide improved version of Keshuval's protection. Since we will be getting a new pet I assume there might be a few new spells to add, and I definitely think that would add to their utility if you had several pet classes in a raid like (beast, necro, mages, etc.)

or adding in that shelter line spell that was a raid wide spell dodge buff for pets would also be helpful

Seems a bit overpowering for the class, but I would love it! That way when the mage begs for my buff I can ask him where my dots are.
