Hello everyone, first post :) . Ok I have some questions, i'm pretty new to WR, but I am going to be DC and was wondering what a better combo would be. I want to play a druid and either a necromancer or BL. My main question is which pet is better in this game tanking wise? And lastly, is the druid pet still weak like in EQlive? Thank you everyone, and just wanted to also say great job on the game!
 
Beastlord pet tanks better than necro pet. Beastlord pets have nice AC, and and a good amount of hps.
 
I still stand with that. I have a beastlord and necro that outgrew the low levels and the beastlord pet seemed to tank better from what I gathered. Beastlord pets tank better because thats what they do. Necro pets are portionally built to be used with fear/agro so they don't have to tank whereas mage and beastlord pets are given the hps and AC to tank well.
 
Granted I am only a level 14 or 15 Necromancer, but my pet tanks fine so far against white stuff. I usually only have to slap a heat blood on the mob and maybe a lifedraw and he can tank him the rest of the battle.

I have never played a beastlord though, so I am unsure how their pets are at tanking.
 
Beastlord pets are better than Necro pets but not by alot. The Beastlord is better tooled though for pet tanking than a necro. The Beastlord brings slows and superior pet heals to the table which, as the classes level, produces significant difference in the two classes ability to pet tank. Using only EQLive as a barometer the Necro is a better solo class than the Beastlord with or without the druid but is the category of pet tanking the Necro does not fairably compare to the Beastlord.
 
umm.. this is interesting. I've been a BL on live and currently a mage on WR. Pet for pet a BL will probably take mage or necro. The real question is do BL pets in WR have the ability to take advantage of weapons/armor given to them? A mage or necro pet with a set of summoned stuff is a bit more likely to over power the BL pet.

Anyone see if BL pets get anything out of giving them weapons/armor?

Mage pets and beastlord pets have roughly the same hps. Nto sure about AC, but both classes can buff the AC up pretty well.

They do... Well at least for weapons they do... As for armor, that I don't know.

Anyone see if BL pets get anything out of giving them weapons/armor?

Gave my warder a weapon tonight and she used it quite effectively.
