Pet focus messages MIA

It used to be that when you logged in or zoned in, you would get messages about pet focus items taking effect. Now, the messages are gone. Are the pet focus items still working? I have not tried any testing with summoning pets while wearing focus items vs. without them, so I have no basis to say if they are taking effect or not. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or any effects from this.

I think something may be up with focus effects. I always used to have them. When I logged on they were off. Turned them on, but still none. Camped and came back to see if that fixed it and they were off again. Also, my nukes aren't as big as they used to be by a good bit, possibly due to focus effects not working properly. I have both the Wrath of the Arcane focus from the Insignia of Newport, as well as DI III on Elemental Mantle, neither are shimmering.
 
Likewise, changing the filter settings in the options or by /cmd didn't help me either. I think I am still getting the benefit of my damage increment focus and I am pretty sure that searfire is helping, too, but I have not done any testing of this either.
 
I have my focus messages turned off, but my companion focus items are working fine. I often switch out my companion health item and replace it on zoning and my pet still gains 25% HP as the effect is reapplied like it should. Pet damage is consistent with my companion strength as well.
