I haven't yet started playing on this server yet, but i was wondering, do 60+ pets hit the same as in regular eq? i read something about the 60+ spells being different so i was wondered if they were changed in any way on this server. Are the pets more beefed up? the same? worse?
 
Hardly ANYTHING on this server is the same as EQLive. This is a custon server after all, it has no relation to Live EQ.

Mage pets are the strongest pet in the game and the stats for the L65 relic pet are.

3500hp (roughly)
40pt damage shield
190dd+stun proc
4 hits + bash, dmg cap 62 per hit.
 
So mage pets hit for less i guess. on live lvl 62 air pet quads for 82ish a hit. Any reason why the mage pets hit for so much less here?
 
Everything is relative. Mage pets hit for less here because mobs in general tend to have less HP. Less than the Luclin wondermobs, anyway.
 
sorry but 3500 hps and 62 dmg? im only at lvl 43 right now but mobs are doubling, sometimes trippling for upwards of 80 and 90 dmg a hit. how can you kill stuff with that pet? and its suppose to be the BIG awsome pet. i dunno maybe im mistaken, my 44 pet hits for 42...so 62 doesnt seem like a huge upgrade either...not sure how i will kill the uber leet stuff with my 2 mages now :(

BTW whats going on with the mage epic? will it be a pet? will it be better then relic?

do you think 2 mages with relic pets could tear stuff up? dunno my mages only 43 right now but knowing that my pets would eventually be good would make me want to get to 65 more. right now im not so sure.
 
i had no problem with my pet's HP i solo'd all the way to 55 all i did was send pet in DoT,heal,maybe DD then heal agian the pet i use the most is water, with the AC/Regen.
 
Snee, your pet right now doubles.

The relic pet quads and attacks faster than your current pet.
 
i see. well anyways, i have 2 more questions, why do my pets knock mobs back whenever ANYONE gets near the mob they are attacking? and my fire pet has never cast his DS...this a bug? i heard it was fixed after the last patch, but i sat in nexus for 3 hours, had pet on /guard for 2 hours nothing happened, then i just had pet stand there and still nothing. Am i doing something wrong?
 
I think what you're describing may be the fact that pets won't get attacked if a player is within melee range of the mob (even if the pet is the highest on the hate list).

The result of this is a bouncing of the mob:

Mob attacks pet because no player is near
Other player goes into melee range
Mob now wants to attack the second highest person on list (usually pet owner if soloing)
Mob moves closer to second highest person on list
Other player is suddenly no longer within melee range due to the little step the mob made
Mob now attacks the pet again.
...
rinse, repeat
 
No, he means if a PC starts attacking a mob a pet is solo engaged on the mob will immediately run after the pets owner no matter how little aggro they have. I have ran into this problem a lot the last few weeks and it does exist. The mob doesn't get "pushed" he just sort of slides and inches his way to the pet owner.
 
fire pets HAVE a DS they dont cast a DS.
So a fire pet has a DS when he is summoned and keeps it, You can give him a better one if you have but he will regain his own one when yours faded.

Are you sure about that, I think its supposed to cast a DS on itself (it,s on the buglist). The fire pet DS has always been a whole lot better then any player cast DS at the same level. I think that the damage used to be pet lvl + 2 or something like that....well on live so I can't really say how it works on WR.

i am sure about it.

And ds on pet here is a bit lower then the one you can cast on same lvl. relic pet has a DS of 40 your highest DS is 33 so he wont get a better ds
