pet aggro

I have a question about pet aggro. Is everything supposed to assist on your pet? for example, im in my 50's right now, and if i was to send my pet at a level 5 gnoll, all the other gnolls would jump the pet - even though both me and the pet are a deep red to them. it can be frustrating when you run through somewhere, and one green mob takes a swing at you, pet attacks, and then 6 other greens jump in and your forced to clear them.

This sounds like a case of social aggro. Basically, given that your pet was the one who initiated aggro on the low levels (all the more likely given that out of the two of you, it's the lower level) it will then be aggroed by the surrounding mobs in the vicinity of the one who jumped you.

It's usually not a big deal though, given that they're green.

With all greens a PBAoE or two will finish things off quick

im a necro i dont usually have any type of AE spells ready to go.

plus lets say all the mobs are around level 30, and you have 4 or so beating on pet. if you begin to cast a spell on one, the 3 hes not holding aggro on will aggro you. this is a big annoyance for a caster and then your using up mana to root, nuke, ae or whatever, when any non pet class can just run by without having a problem

One was probably LB to your pet.
Easy solution, dump the pet when you're running somewhere.

This is an agro problem with the pets themselves. You could have a lvl 60 pet and toss him into a lvl 1 dungeon only to watch it get jumped by all the mobs in the area. Not a huge issue at the big a lvl difference but it can be issue if there's a lot of mobs and the level difference is smaller.

This was an issue back when I farmed Paw for heads, but I quickly got the 65 AoE destroy so it was more funny than painful trying to kill 4 or 5 mobs in a row.
But seriously this can prove painful on some occasions (especially for a necro that can't heal his pet correctly) and unless it"s a client limitation, which I fear, it would deserve a look at since it's absolutely not logical for a greenie to aggro a red (unless he is extremely close to the pet, I got it, but mobs at normal aggro range do add)
