Pestulent Shark Hide Cloak nerf

I'd just like to ask why this was nerfed? If it was kept droppable, there would be no need for it. Or, why not add a higher level requirement? It seems like the people who have had this cloak since it was no drop are being punished for what are, in my mind at least, uneccesary changes. I suppose it was nerfed so that it isnt farmed as much? It wouldnt be farmed at all by people who dont need them if it was still No Drop. Making the Plaguefang loot droppable was clearly a mistake if the loot has to be nerfed by doing so.

Id like to suggest it is unerfed, and all Plaguefang loot be made No Drop once again. This just doesnt make any sense.
 
Id like to note that these mobs are NOT on par with WW dragons or lesser SK Giants, so making their loot worse and droppable makes absolutely NO sense. These items were nowhere near obsolete for many people.

The loot was obviously over powered considering the difficulty of the mob. I can't be the only one that saw it was far too good for such a lame mob.

The nerf is just a means to an end, and isn't due to the loot becoming droppable.

As a monk the 2.5 weight was harsh, but the stats made up for it. Now that the AC is only 10, could the weight at least be lowered.
 
No i mean that's what I said when I saw it, I'm not the item nerf puppetmaster or anything. Plus I've been too busy raging against the machine about the Rod of Living Fire anyway.

(update on rod? is it getting some oomph back? i know very few people use it but those of us who are trying to get it would like some love okay even if there aren't many <3)

I'm just nervous after being one of the people championing a rework of the resist system to give the mid-level people a break, I never knew it would grow into a monster :eek:
 
Yeah anyways, about that weight suggestion? Any chance of it being lowered to be more monk friendly?
 
Oh, and as far as weight is concerned... 2.5 isn't all that bad for 60 HP, considering it's not meant as a monk item. All about balance really.

I tend to agree.

I think that dropping the weight on the cloak would make it too powerful for Monk use, and doing so may require the other stats to be decreased slightly (this is only my opinion). And, not to stir the pot, but the cape definately needed an AC nerf! It previously had similar stats to one from a much tougher encounter. Compare to:

The shard hide cloak in its current form, WITH the -1.0 wt reduction, is much more in line in comparision to that cape, fyi.


If you compare the entirity of the resists gained, plus the hp, and then the AC, plus the 0.5 wt, no matter how you put it, the cape is much more superior.

Also; considering that cloak adds +90 mana, comparing the shark hide to it is ridiculous - maybe compare the shark hide cloak to:

I've never seen that cloak before, nor do I know how hard the encounter is... I can't really say what is balanced or unbalanced in regards to it. Or else I'd probably agree with you Tapein.
 
That cloak drops from Summoner in cmal3. The event is quite a bit more difficult then plaguefang.
