The fact is the policy should be changed/made more clear so that atleast the GM's can agree.
And for those of you that disliked the guy using his subscription as leverage, he is one of the reasons your playing, don't knock it. Was it not just 3 months ago there was talk of the server shutting down? He should not have thrown it out there like that but you also need to remember it's the people donating that are keeping these servers running...

Steihl not being original? Hmmm... As for my surname, nothing wrong with it.. If you do a google Search for Steihl, everything on the first page, save for maybe the family name of someone in texas, is me. I have the Deviantart Profile Steihl.. hell, I have steihl01.com registered, and have for nearly 2 years. I have the name tattooed to my arm, it's been my nick name since I was a frecle faced 12 year old creating my first D&D Character. And if -I- was told to change my name, I wouldn't bitch, I'd just do it... because those are the rules.. end of story.

After the fact, perhaps, if you disagree, you can do exactly what Melwin mentioned in a post he had to lock, and send one of them a PM on the forums, or submit a petition about it. If a GM changes a name, and it gets overlooked by another and is found to be something that should be changed, it will get changed. If the name was a little more obsure than the Roman God of Death, maybe it would have been overlooked.

And Wiz doesn't bother with name flagging, so if he's talking to you one day, don't believe that to be a green flag. And also guys, LAY OFF WITH THE LYING. Do you really think that saying "Wiz okayed my name" will get you off the hook? We do speak to him near constantly you know, so it's not very hard to reference back to it.
I've had enough of this naming policy thread crap, and I'm locking this one as well. I hate to do it, but the next person who starts one will be dealt with. That's final guys. Give it a rest. It's been here for 2-3 years, it's not changing now. We have a good game here, and I'm sorry if people are going to quit as a result of not having dumb names, especially if they're level 40, or even 65, (Yes, we have nerfed level 65's. They as well are not exempt) but that's certainly no reason.
Just play the game, accept the policy, and if you get nameflagged, MOVE ON. It's not a big deal.
