Pending Pet Rune Spell

-We are looking to add in a raid wide pet spell rune. This should allow pets a bit more survivability in raid situations without increasing their power in soloing, tanking and other areas. We are still hammering out the details of what this will replace and which class needs the new tech love. Hopefully this can make for some interesting interclass synergy.

Sounds like a good idea. From the quote it does not guarentee Beastlords would see this change, but I do have concerns with changes in spell lines due to asking if we liked our spell Bitter Cold last night in OOC by Woldaff. Seems like it could have potential as long as Beastlords are not having to cast this raid wide pet rune frequently during a fight with high AoE dmg to ensure pets with variable and vastly different amounts of HP are guaranteed to survive for minimal dps gain compared to the lose of DPS from actual the Beastlord.

If Beastlords do have a change in spells, the spell it should replace is Keshuval's Protection (65) - currently increases all resists by 60 which does not really help a pet survive currently. This spell would be the perfect replacement without sacrificing any of our other spell lines. Please let us know/be aware of other spells the staff is contemplating replacing so we can voice a reasonable opinion on any upcoming changes.

I do want to discuss the upcoming change, and the possibilities of what the spell could be.

One idea if stacking is not an issue is having the beastlord pet proc a % chance to cast raid wide rune on all pets in raid. I would like to see this possibly stack with the other two proc's we choose from now at the high end (Spirit of Tearing / Spirit of Soothing).

Let me know what you guys think and please discuss further.

The problem I see is this only works if you have an active beast lord in raid, so now necro and Mage pets are reliant on a bl. Works in theory or you could just solve the problem and boost hps back up.

I tend to agree that this is a solution in search of a problem. I'm still not clear on why just returning pet hp to prior levels is unbalancing. From the feedback I've read to date, I think all the pet classes are asking that question.

Setting that aside for the moment, if we've decided that beastlords are going to be the raid pet babysitter (which I guess might make sense from a lore standpoint to the extent we don't want to warp the lore to make it point to another class), then instead of eliminating Keshuval's and creating an entirely new spell, I'd like to see Spirit of Soothing procs additionally affect all pets in the raid. That might be a cleaner way of getting the desired effect without subjecting beastlords to more dps loss than actually having to cast some sort of new spell.
