PB AoE song only works on 1 mob and only if in combat?

I was wondering if anyone else has experieinced this. Level 59 song Denon's Bereavement. PB AoE poison song.
When i start the song it starts up fine. But, it does not affect any mobs within range unless I am in combat with them. i can be standing with range of 2 or more mobs turn song on and nothing happens. If i turn on attack then only the mob I attack will be affected by the song no others even though they are in range. Not sure how to resolve this issue. have repatched to see if anything would be repaired but alas nothing.
 
think it may be ae's also. I routinely use tigirs insects and its hit and miss if itl hit ae or not.
 
its hit or miss as to whether it will AE or not but it consistently hits the mob you are targetting? but then again you probably dont start off the fight with tigir's or do you? My song wont hit anything whatsoever until i am actually in combat with the mob then it will function. Ive spoken with other bards and it works normally for them.
 
They only hit mobs that have you on their agro list, which is why it's hitting the one you're fighting and not the others.
