Patcher / Install ... please Help !!

Firstly, I haven't played on EQ for nearly 2 years... I saw this opportunity to play SoD... can someone please quickly list an idiot's guide to help me get the game up and running... I have downloaded patch.files... but everytime I run the SoD Patch.. the screen goes black...flickers then goes straight back to previous screen. I have EQ install and files downloaded up to LDoN. Do I have to run the EQ Patcher? and to what point and why can't the SoD patcher run... HELP PLZ cos i wanna really try SoD out. Many thnx (in anticipation) ;(

When does the screen go black, when you're patching the game, or when you're running EQ? Login, server select, character creation? Need more details.

As soon as I right-clicky SoD path to run it....... Last time I tried a few moments again . screen came up with a box saying " ...fatal engine error occurred ... " !!! wtf does this mean.............

Did you properly install the ms .net package?

Yep... got the 1.1 .... just can't understand what the prob is??........

It sure sounds like an issue with the .NET framework..

what Operating System are you using?

Windows XP home... would I have to delete and re-install th 1.1 again....? thnx for your time....
