Patch and login problems

Dalayan Beginner
Hello there,

I truly hope this isn't a redundant question, and if it is, I do apologize.

When if first started on Dalaya, I installed eq as per the instructions on your Getting Started Page, and then (without fully patching) I just launched the sodpatcher program, logged in and played normally.

Tonnes of fun!

I then noticed that in my excitement, I actually hadn't followed your instructions to the letter, which is to say I didn't let sony patch my copy of EQ up all the way. I figured I ought to do so, and let the patcher run.

After fully completing the sony patch, I lauched the SoDPatcher, hit "patch and run"... and it hung.

I launched it again, clicked "repatch all", hit "patch and run" again... and it hung.

The patcher consistently hangs with the message "updating generalcommands.htm" (or some such file, I'm writing from work and not from home, so I don't remember exactly)...

Am I alone having this issue, have I done something wrong, and can the situation be remedied?

If worst came to worst I could simply reinstall EQ and run the SoDPatcher without allowing sony to update my EQ for me (which worked in the first place)... but I'd like to avoid having to do so if at all possible.

Anyone have any thoughts/solutions on/for this?

Cheers,

Grinder.

My bad, just saw a fix, going to try it out.

Hello all again,

The question does appear to be redundant, my eyes just missed the post with the fix listed. It's late, and I'm very tired.

Sorry about that :)

Still no joy

Hey there,

Tried deleting files.txt, the patcher redownloads that file and gets stuck in the same place. If I press Cancel, and the Patch & Run again, the patcher hangs with the message "populating hash table".

And yes, the latest version of .net is installed :)

Thanx for the suggestion, any others?

Patch files not available

Thanks for the response,

I've tried patching using this zip file before, as I mentioned in my previous posts. No luck.

I tried to grab the zip file again just now (about 9pm on Thursday Nov. 24), but the page does not exists apparently (prolly just a minor glitch like a bad file name or somesuch).

Anyway, I'll try again when the page is made available and update.

Thanks again,

Grinder.

No luck

Sadly, this has not worked. I still get stuck.

I'll just reinstall EQ and disallow it to patch from sony.

Thanx for your help anyway.

Grinder...

When you patch Live, you always have to "repatch all" for SoD. I think of it like clearing out the funkiness that Live instills...anyway...the one thing that I didn't see mentioned is that you need to make sure that your firewall is disabled for the initial patch. I ran into the same problem just last night.

I'm thinkin that you turn off your firewall before you patch SoD, and you'll be golden.

Good Luck
