Pally gear and aa's

Prokin

Dalayan Beginner
Currently i have a lvl 59 pally
- i understand he is lacking in gear and im working on it (through raids and aa grinding with WI)
- my sword will be replaced with rotblade soon enough

i was looking for
- the best aa route (for raid offtanks as well as aoe grinding)
- Crutial spells that i should buy and those i should skip
- Buyable gear that would provide good upgrades that is better then t1-t2 content
- Quests that are nessisary for pallys

Yeah Do your Thurgain Quests (Helm for HI 4 and Soulfire)
Buy Deepmetal Armor, its tier 3-4ish

Another big source of gear... Tmaps. Do Tmaps whenever you can!! Seriously
This just covers VE, E, and Mod. You also want to collect the Tmap quest drops for a very nice reward.

As to spells...(paladin ones.... Always pick up your cleric spells. rez, heals, and the buffs etc)

Group Hots line a must
Group hp buff line is a must (the Pink Heart)
Words of the Crusader (63rd AoE Stun)
Blessing of Malath (64 self heal)

Santify and Consecrate are our PBAoE undead nukes. They are fantastic... but honestly unless your going to FR or HHK you can skip these for awhile.

And do yourself a favor... DONT even think about getting Taraztu's Healing Flame until your 65 with some good gear or have a High Teir buddies will to help you. The spell might be 57 level but a group of 57s would be utterly destroyed were it drops.

As to AAs.... Since you said Tanking

General:
Innate Run 3
Innate Reg 3

This opens up the next group of AAs:
Durabiltity 12

Which will open up:
Physical Enchancment 5

From here:
Combat Agility 12 *need for Lightning relfexes

Shield Mastery 12
Lightning Relfexes 15

You may or may not want to work on your fearless AAs in thier as well. Really depends on what your doing. If your not going up vs Mobs that fear much they don't bother. If you find you are a lot then its a great AA.

After this your option open up greatly on what you best like and feel you need.

adding to the AA's that kirin suggested i recommend getting Divine Stun/Rush to Judgement as well, it helps your aggro out immensely. Melee Mastery/Weapon Shield is another useful set as well for defensive aas.

what the 2 silly paladins said before me PLUS a lil inside info about taraztus healing flames.

its an AWESOME spell and will save your ass many many many a time. i spent (lol) 9months camping this baby but its totally cool, so once you hit 65 make sure to him up red sun mines and kill the servant as often as you can - beef up your MR past 300 and it should be ok

Adding to the list: Armlet of the Seven Voices.

It's a somewhat uncommon drop (I've seen it drop twice out of maybe 8 kills), but if you plan on doing Mesklin's quest (decent xp) it may be worth checking on him. There's a nice safe area on east side of zone, near the empty hut where Santru (or his 30min, or was it 20?, PH) will wander close by.

Have no idea at what point you can take him down, but he's reasonably soloable on my casually geared 65 wiz (burn him to 50, then use the quick cast stuns to disrupt his CH).

i was wondering if the AA fury of light would be a good investment

just a few questions
- does the effect cause agro?
- how long is recast (it says 1second on wiki is that suppsed to be 1 min)
- is it worth it?

Thanks

fury of lite is verry little agggro but as all paladins should tell you AA are like pokemon ,you just gotta get em all

fury of light is NO AGGRO. it only works against undead. If you are fighting undead i highly recommend it. if most of your time is spent fighting non undead it can be put on the back burner.

does the effect cause agro?
The effect causes ZERO aggro, meaning that you can cast it on a distant mob and it won't aggro you. It's good for zones like Highkeep before you pull mobs.

how long is recast (it says 1second on wiki is that suppsed to be 1 min)
It's almost instant.

is it worth it?
Definitely worth it if you fight undead, as Daelius said. If you don't, then don't worry about it. Vartenaal said it was overcap too, can't confirm this though.

ow, that hurts Ass&Buns :( it DOES stack with other slows

tbh when i first bought this as i was slowly progressing through AAs, i felt that the AA cost was too high for this AA. my gear was pretty shitty at the time and i was quite versatile with xp zones.
