Ok, quest.. I VERY highly recommend the Antique Plate quest. You can look it up on the wiki, during the course of the quest you will get xp, Plate leggings, Plate helm, Plate BP, Plate Gloves, Plate boots, and 2 Plate Bracers.
They all have decent AC (about what normal plate) + some stat/resist. This quest is dueable in your later teens.
Dont neglect your Main Quest ether.. I am almost on the last stage of the Main quest now, and I am realy surpised by the number of people I see that are higher level then me and dont have there Main quest even started. You can gain a lot of xp during the course of this quest (which will take many levels to complete).
The newport ring quest is also a excellent quest and gives you a nice ring (since early rings/earrings are a pain to find). Erudin also has a odd newbie ring quest.. it doesn't give you much for a ring. but its better then a open slot.
I also subjest looking intot he newport sewers for some easy to get Earrings (nothing special.. but again better then ntohing) and a range slot item.
As far as specializtion, the general view by most people is it doesn't realy matter since you can max them all out in the end. However I dont really care for this view.. as it implys that everyone will be 65 with Tons of AAs. This is not for everyone, so my subjection is to figured out what you would like your paladin to be good at first.
Blade/Strike was one I went with first as it helps basicly all your weapon skills (except for blunts) 250 spec basicly gives you 10% bonus more or less (some very). At 125 spec your looking at about 5%ish bonus. I person took the road of giving me that 5% bonus to a couple of areas.

The last one I can't hink of off the top of my head.. but its your midigation specilization. I currently have 140 Spec in each of those areas.
As to early upgrades Shrouded island has a fairly easy mob to camp that drops the Silver Plate Bp and Leggings. (hes in his low 20s) Not to mention the amount of undead in shrouded realy lets paladin do some good Dps (cleasening blows are x3 dmg)

a Sword of Cleansing is a great undead 1h sword. You get it from a low level paladin quests that starts when you "Hail High Hand Shon Natani in the Paladin Guild Hall." I am still using it VS undead at level 25 (lower ratio than my usual weapon, but close enough that allowing me to use a shield more than makes up for it).
For 2hs, you can find a mastercrafted scythe on vendors eventually or by PC smiths that are pretty cheap and very good at low levels ratio-wise if you can find one (and use it... not all classes can).
I would also keep up your 2hb if you can. I haven't found a whole lot of great stuff that is 1hb or 2h pierce up to mid-level, but there are probably decent options for that later on.

So far 2h slash, 1h slash, and 2h blunt are the easyest to go with.
Finding a 1h blunt or low end Perice is very hard it seems for paladin. Both my skills are only at 75 current, as if I use something to train them right now I will be sucking wind hardcore compared to other weapon choices.
As to cheap weapons to get...
Mitheral Scyth if you can muster the 20-30 pp a smith wants for it. 23 31 is a realy nice ratio.
What I found worked great... Corrupted Sword of Valor. It sells to vendors for 10pp so i have found a few on vendors (I think they want like 15 for it off the vendor). Its a 34 40 Ratio.. but with -10 to all stats. The -10 does hurt.. but its got a great ratio with a level recommend of 33 you will quickly get this up to full power. Since its so craptastic many Higher levels will just give them away.
2h blunts seem to be very easy to come buy, I never found any shortage of good 2h blunt upgrades. Currently my paladin uses a Ice Hooked Great hammer... it appears most people wouldn't be caught dead with it however as I always see if for sale and no one buying. Alot of times its on the vendors, this will cost you a bit more (like 80pp off a vendor) however its a 37/35 Ratio.. with some MASSIVE stat boosters. It does however have a 55 recommend on it.. but you will quickly gain dmg on it dispite the 55 recommend. I think when I first got this hammer at 34 it was like a 23-24 35. Which is still a very good ratio for those levels. It does a proc that i heard is a neg. 650 hate, which I think is what leads it to be a unpopular weapon for those that can use it (since its hard to tank for a group if your proc neg. hate). However as it won't proc until 55 I see no reason not to use it uat least until 54.
As to 1h slash... Blade of spirtual infusion!! for the win. Its cheap.. its for Pal/Sk only. 15 Dmg 24 delay with 3 dmg Disease and some stat boosts. I think it has a recommend as well.. but its like 20 so any penalty it has quickly goes away. I think you can find these as cheap as 50pp, there are some other options but you will pay more since other classes can use them.
As to realy low level weapons...
Dalium, Mitheral will definitly be your friends.. right off the bat Mastercraft or Etheral weapons since both can be bought for 1-2 pp. Dalium and Mitheral require 10-30pp range so they would be a next stage upgrade, however you may find some weapons depending on where you are hunting for upgrades.
Again hit the newport sewers.(can't stress this enof). you can get a Fiilthy Scimitar.. if I recall its a 7 22 and procs disease. There is also a Spear drop if you can get a group to go deeper. The named that drops the scimitar also drops a earring, and thers another named ratling that drops a different type of earring and a shield. (of course dont forget the named Bloated Rat that drops a nice low level range slot item).
Another good upgrade for a item drop is the 2h sword that drops off the undertaker. Hes about a level 24 undead froglok.. its a 18 34 delay witha proc. You can buy it off vendors for about 18pp and from players for around 25-30pp. Vendor cheaper but you have to find a vendor after someone sells it off. The Undertaker also drops some very nice lower level boots. AC 9 +10 Sta boots which are his common drop.

Just being in the zone may net you this axe as well since alot of people kill him when ever hes up just to sell off his silver palted armor. Thank you for the info. I have played an SHD for a long, long, time. That is the only thing I have ever played. I am hoping to learn as much as I can here to help with the game. Did Rabb the Rat the other day and I think the Adepts are a great part of the game. Please if anyone else has any hints or thoughts I would like to hear them.
