Paladin gearing questions at 54/55

Hi all.

I've been playing for a couple months now and have duoed a paladin and cleric up to 54, and I have some questions about gearing up the paladin.

There's still some gear I have from back when I started, and I've been searching around the wiki and forums for info that could guide me to getting some decent gear for my level without much luck. Money has been sort of scarce, and I'm not exactly sure what I could be doing/killing at this level for a solid source of income.

I'm looking for suggestions (or a guide) on what gear I could obtain duo-ing with my cleric, or if there are some decent quests that I could complete without needing help from anyone else. These are my first SoD characters, and I'm still becoming familiar with the world. Any help/advice would be very appreciated!
 
harthuks in great divide should be pretty good cash for around your level. farm that a bit, work on your charm and join a raiding guild, even if you are a casual player - it will get you acquainted with more stuff, meet more people and you get loot. you can only get so far with bought gear, especially if you have little money.
 
I would start with getting charm of the guardian.
I would then buy up some simple t maps, there is a nice ac dmg reduction ring from there and you usually get a bigger return than the initial investment.
Then I would slowly work on Thurg helm quest followed up by farming up enough pp for some of the nicer dropables. Harthuks and Lasanth will be good for this as well as cyc gorge and crystal caverns. If u want to see a bit over the top build for pal:

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm going to get to work on the insignia of newport and save up for the charm. I've had some trouble getting started on the soulfire, since the highkeep guards own me...but it shouldn't be too bad with a group.

Entrance guards should not pose a problem with a group, as they are lower level than the rest of the first floor -- just don't go too far inside HK
 
or try to find someone to help you with it, any level 65 should be able to get it for you, and its worth the effort
 
If you see my pally online (name is Parlin) give me a tell and I will help you get the piece for soulfire in Highkeep. he practically lives there anyway.
 
Parlan just wanted to say you are awesome. Not for being a paladin, or helping this guy out, but because you keep BBR pots stocked at a reasonable price! <3
 
thanks again for the help, and definitely for the offer Parlin. I was able to get my soulfire yesterday with the help of Lycander and Minerios, and big thanks to them. I'll be working next on the insignia of newport and barbute of purity, which will be nice upgrades.
