Open letter to Ruin (or Khalid)

Khalid,

I understand your frustration. All the guilds have been set back months. It feels like much of our progress has been lost. As far as I'm concerned, we have to play the waiting game right now, get aas, get lvls, get small upgrades, and wait until each of our guilds gets an influx of newer players. What happened was the same thing which happned on live: players won encounters with lower number than desired, so the high-end is adjusted for 70s, instead of 40s. Hell, it took an insane strategy for first serverwide AoW kill to prove to them how ridiculous thier mob was. 88 ppl, 82 minutes, 550 deaths, 30+ charmed giants as main tank (in groups of 4). AoW version 1 could have probably killed every other boss at once (cept sleepr). Then, the fixed him.

What is the solution for WR? Pure numbers. At risk of being flamed, I suggest combined raids (non-faction, of course, so no kael or tov). Our Rymaz ninja started this whole fiasco. I know we had more than 20. And something like 6 clerics. But stilll, he should have been harder, I agree. But since bosses have become so hard now, and not ninjable, I think we should consider re-allowing joint raids. Otherwise, nothing new will die for many more months.

And before all the devs jump on me saying everything is winnable, I'd like to point out both Ruin and Gotw's track record for last month. Has anything new been killed? No. Have we even come close to killing anything new? No. Have we wiped to alot of old encounters? Yes. What is the solution? More people. How? We wait, or we join forces. I'd rather clear PoT tommorow, with no loot on corpses, than have to wait another month for the scrubs to level up...

Also, I'm not sure why everyone is so mad all the time. The point of forums is discussing. If you don't agree, you don't agree. That's life. Calm rationality always wins over violent outbursts (from dev and player alike). Rants make the argument become one of pride and offense, not logic, not truth.

Anyway, I'd like to hear thoughts from both sides of argument about joint raids. Keep it civil please.

I understand very little about high lvl raids and the such, but I know why is everybody mad, I've seen it in many forums of many online games like this one: Ok, lets see... guild A goes to kill uber mob X, its easy! SO, they kill, loot, and everybody is happy because it was fun! Yay. Now, the admins realize it was too easy, so they change it. Guild A goes again, but... omgwtf?! The mob X is now much harder! Rant time! So, there you have this arguments here in forum...
Basically, you lvl up as fast as you can, using lots of hours in this cool, game, with this cool admins and staff members in this cool server, but however you feel like your almost infinite hours of hard work for lvling up to 50+ didnt pay off at all, because everything is harder!

Well, I hope it was clear enough :)
I wont mess with the issue itself, I just wanted to clear this point of why this things happen. This doesnt mean mob X has to be nerfed again, its just the cause-consequence effect, sometimes there is no rant, sometimes there is  .

Well, to clear one thing up, Im not mad. Im frustrated, yes, and a bit upset that it was put out that I was just making things up, when yes its true I dont have the numbers, but I actually do try and go with as much knowledge as I know. Regardless, we went in one week from doing High Priest Coralash and Enforcer with zero losses, to not being able to do either. Of course, alot more of that was due to people leaving before patch problems were fixed than to any sort of nerf on the mobs, so in a way Im more frustrated with the people that werent willing to even wait one goddamn week for things to be fixed.

Anyway, as for joint raids, Ive always been for it as long as the leaders are able to come up with a reasonable solution to loot that makes both guilds happy. Unfortuntely, that seems to very rarely happen. Gotw is using a form of dkp, whereas we are not for various reasons, so Im not sure how that would work on a joint raid. Sure Im up for it though, killing new things is always fun.

Pretty much what Khalid said. The mobs themselves weren't nerfed except in rare cases. You absolutely do not need 70 people for encounters on WR. More like 30-40 at MAX. Rizhal was almost beat with 22 people.

People quitting and lag/ld issues is what set you back, and now that they're fixed and we're getting a influx of players, it will hopefully solve itself.

Well, a joined raid, loot could be dealt two ways:

1) Guild leaders roll for loot and then the guild that wins, gets the loot (and then gotw could do their DKP thing if they won)

2) Everybody interested roll for loot

im still here

Ill admit i was bumbed when things went down the drain like they did for a while but i never actualy left. Ive just been so wrapped up in real life stuff that im trying to get it all back to normal. I get off work and i look at my pc then turn around and go to bed so i can get enough sleep to do it agian in the morning.

I know things will get better with more players and it only takes time.

Ill see you soon my friends

Nostais.

Loot distribution dictated by randomness = no.

But if we did, maybe we could do stuff like king of Kael.

We'll get there soon enough.

I'm confident we can do both Rymaz and Trial 2 if we have a raid like TOT.

Either way, this thread is really pointless.

Well, of course the prereq for any type of joint raid would be a guildleader that is open to the idea and feels like they would have something to gain. Since Coltaine seems to have neither of those, I guess this thread is indeed pointless.

Anyway, I had alot of fun in our mini-TOT raid we did awhile back, even though we had to call it early. Id be up for that at anytime we had the people and Coltaine wasnt on I guess :p. Im sure whoever was leading the GOTW people and I could work something out on the loot.
