One probably stupid question and one I'm clueless question

Okay, my stupid question is this, how do I turn logging on and where do I go to find said logs later?

And my I'm clueless question is... does anyone know what the various sound files in sound correspond to? I've been wanting to change a bunch of the music (mainly the loading music) and haven't been able to figure out what is what.

To turn on logging
"/log <filename>"

To turn off logging
"/log off"
When you're looking for your log, look for what you typed in for the filename

Most of the music you are hearing in the old worlds are
embedded .midi files that you cannot change...

However, iirc PoP added .mp3 functionality for zones...you
could change those by just using the previous filename and
inserting your own .mp3.

Actually you don't need to type the filename to do the log...

To turn it on, you just simply type: /log

And when your done, to turn it off, you again just type: /log

And to find the log file in the EQ directory, look for this file: eqlog_YourCharactersName_.txt

NOTE: Your characters name will be its first name only...

So for example if you charactes name is Deddra Briskwind, the file will look like eqlog_Deddra_.txt.

and if I type /log after it turning off it'll just add onto the end of the current log right?

Yes, I just use /log on and /log off myself though.

I can definitely see where logging'd be very effective in WR, I'm always trying to scroll up for Quest instruction.

I usually use the notepad in the game to keep tabs on quests I'm doing. I just type in what I need and as I'm going along I just remove the text as I get the items I need. A very handy thing to have in the game, saves from having sheets of paper with notes on them lying around the desk.

Also a very good idea. I'm thinking of building a quest database. Sort of an Allakhazam for WR. ^^ We already have the Wanelo/Magelo system, a sort of Allakhazam would be nice, but that'd be a massive undertaking. Or build an item/bestiary at least.. I'd need a lot of volunteers though. =P

I always did screenshots for quest stuff. Do a /who and /time on the zone in case they are only around at a certain time of day. Then, when you come to the end of the quest you can post a nice pictoral walk through on the wiki! I'm wondering when I'm going to succumb to the darkside and get internet 7 actually start donating & playing...

I generally left my log file running 24/7, I have one log file laying around I'm still trying to find a parser to view it, weighs in at a hefty 2.1g, and another 5 or 6 in the 700k-1g range...

Well, I do have a few 120 gig hdd's, but I couldn't imagine how long it'd take to open a 2gig text file.. o_O

Well, to change the main loading theme, delete the old eqtheme.mp3 and replace it with an mp3 of your choice. Rename the file to eqtheme.mp3 and viola, there you go :).

Combattheme1 and combattheme2 are the various battle music.

Hope this helps.

There is a /note command in game to let you jot down whatever
you need to.
