Hey,
It's been a while since I played! i had a few questions about who i should email regarding whether and account is still active. I'm Makeen(41 Shammy)/Kronc(42 Warrior) by the way. I'm back for the summer from college. Unfourtunately i lost my SoL CD's and was wondering if it would be possible to load the game and play until i bought the SoL Cd's as long as i stay away from that expansion's zones. Hope to hear from ya soon, thanks a bunch

the problem seems to go deeper than that, my EQ Cd's are so old they won't install on windows XP so i'll have to buy the set over again no biggie its like 30 bucks or something at a best buy probably.

Yes, i am that infamous Kronc, and in defense of myself i had only been playing WR for a couple weeks and was very new to it all, I've definetly learned a little something about the server and the WR community since then, and i miss it!

Anyways thanks a bunch for your help Arif and i hope to see you all in the game soon, hopefully my accounts are still registered? Makeen and Kronc both show up on Wanelo.

Ok how to get around the fact you have bad cds.... Go to everquest.com search the knowldge base for everquest.exe download it and then extract it to the folder you want everquest in... thats the patcher program ... Double click to open the extracted file "everquest.exe" it will begin to patch. stop the download and then go into the advanced tab... choose the expantions you own and hit save... when your back at the main screen hit download... then go get a beer/ shot, movie something because even with broadband.. its going to take 3 hours or so

goodness gracious this is troublesome, I downloaded the everquest.exe and ran the patcher and i have all the files i could download from it. The game loads up fine and seems like it should be working just great, but as soon as i log into a character it says that i am missing whatever data file the zone is and crashes.

The second part to this dilema is for some reason when i try to download the free trial of the Everquest Trilogy thingy, my computer always halts at about 16% and i can't seem to get it to allow me to do the multipart download, seems that greater powers are at work trying to inhibit my addiction. Or maybe my dad learned some coding and is f-ing with my comp... haha paranoia strikes deep!

You got a few options as far as i can tell... first go back into the advanced properties and do a "Compleat" file check i think is what the option is called.. im at work so i might be a little of.. the patcher will take a much closer look at the files you have and make sure you get the right ones.. 2 make sure if you have any anti-virus, firewall software turn it off when your downloading the game..
