old bug still crashing me alot

I have had this error since I started playing on WR. I randomly crash and have to reboot my computert to get back in. The error I get in the dbg.txt file is

[Sun May 08 23:16:39 2005]06497rocess was trying to WRITE invalid data.

[Sun May 08 23:16:39 2005]06498:Invalid access occurred at virtual address 0x00000024.

[Sun May 08 23:16:39 2005]06499:Fatal error occurred in mainthread! (Release Client #630)

I probably crashed 6 or 7 times last night. I hadn't crashed for the past 2 weeks before then. Any help at all would be appreciated.

grrrrrrr and here we go again. I can't seem to play more than 15 minutes without haveing to reboot. The stupid error just beeps and then I have to shut my computer down to clear eq from the screen.

I suspect there might be a modal dialog box hanging up your computer. Try pressing the "n" key when you crash (answering "no" to the invisible dialog box). That might free up your screen and prevent you from having to reboot. Running under EQW might also help having to reboot.

Thanks for the tip. Doesn't really help the crash problem but should speed up the time it takes to crash again. I have researched the error everywhere and can only find some threads on the Sony boards a little over a year again with a ton of people having the same problem. I read through pages and pages but no real solutions to the issue. I guess a patch resoved the problem on live, whatever it was.
