Ogre Beastlord, thoughts?

Metzgard

Dalayan Beginner
Hey, Metzgard new to the server and Metzgard been poking around with an Ogre SK. After reading a little bit... Metzgard no want to be an SK anymore. :p

Determined to be an ogre (METZGARD SMASH), Metzgard considering Beastlord. Any input? Will a guild ever give Metzgard love? Metzgard have plenty of loving to give.

-Metzgard smash,
Metzgard

As a beastlord, you'll find much love but you'll also have a great ability to solo up through the levels as need be. As a shaman, you'd be more group Dependant. Stat wise, ogre beastlords are very melee-forward which won't hurt you at all and you are huge with a huge bear-pet. If that sounds fun, then take a whack at it. One thing to note though, if you haven't had much bst experience, is that the very early levels can be a little rough. You find life hard from level 1-8 and life gets MUCH easier at level 9 with your first pet and some spells. This still isn't the top yet, meditate will be a great skill which you'll get later on (lvl 12?) and at 15 you get an important chain of spells, the pet proc buff. If you already know a lot about bst, then I'm sorry I made you read that. Either way, good luck

Ogre beastlords are key.

If not beastlord then be a shaman. Not enough of them. Or be a bard and have a SB ogre illusion at all times

Tanking here is nothing like tanking in WoW, but you have a good point!

Werd! I'll see how my teddy bear likes it, and maybe roll another ogre SK.

BUT FOR NOW, METZGARD'S BEAR SNUGGLE SMASH

Don't forget that CHA is important if you want to land spells. You may want to dump the most of your bonus points into that since you're an ugly ogre.

Metzgard have question for more wise beastlords :psyduck::

What is the recommended choice for specialization/AA?

Metzgard smash figure Metzgard smash best with blunt, so I've got 30 in Blunt/Avoidance.

But what about AA? Metzgard DOUBLE SMASH, or Metzgard [insert other AA].

I'm pretty damn green to the game, so forgive me if I'm a little lost/slow/sexy for my own shirt :E

You'll build skills so whatever weapon is best use that

specs don't matter a ton imo blunt/avoid or blade/strike or whatever else they all help

Get whatever aas help your dps. Crit aas and hitting % aas first

Your first three AAs will be Run Speed 3.

By the time to get there, you will have a pretty good idea what you need. If you are pretty green to the game, the climb is several months long. Don't worry about AAs till you hit 65.

Specializations, for casters it is Focus/Mind... Energy/Defense... Sight/Warding... Blunt/Avoidance.
Warriors and Rogues are Blade/Strike... Energy/Defense... Blunt/Avoidance... Sight/Warding.

Hybrids get to work out the order on personal choice, depending on how much casting, tanking, and raiding you do. You top the first at level 25, the second at level 50, and the third at level 65 with 50AAs. The next you top at 175 AAs, and the final at 300 AAs.

G'damnit. I miss when it only took 3 weeks to hit 60 (GG, WoW).

Seeing as I get about 10 or less hours of play in a week... I'll see you 65 d00ds in a year or two.

Run advancements. I'll remember that. I'll read more as I go along, but thanks for the heads-up.

With love for bludgeoning,
METZGARD SMASH

One bit of advice from a veteran ogre beasty of the old game:

At level 9 you will receive the Flash of Light spell. This spell is pretty much worthless if you're good at jumping in and out of combat to split damage taken between yourself and your pet, and if you're anything like me you'll have removed it from your spell bar completely within a few levels.

For the love of all things holy keep using that spell, because it is the best way of raising Divination. And it is one of the very few spammable div spells you get early on.

Speaking as someone who pretty much ignored the entire divination line until he hit level 49, got the almighty invisibility spell which would make traveling, farming and exping in hard to reach places so easy... and then realized his divination was in the mid 20s.

Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. Fizzle. :dumb:
