Oggok Mage quest help

Not sure if there's a problem with the quest or I'm just killing the wrong mobs.

I'm on the second part of the quest you get from the Mage GM, where you need to get a Dagger from the lizard people, and a Staff from the Tal'yen. I've gotten the dagger already (Very common drop), but can't seem to find the Staff. I've been killing them where there is a 2 spawn - and lots of roamers near Stingers, as well as the camp of them in front of CT (Even brought my monk to speed things up) but no luck.

Any ideas?

I managed to get the staff from a Tal'yen forager, so they do indeed drop - only problem was the NPC ate my items when I returned them. The staff seemed somewhat rare, and as far as I know the foragers wander about the zone, at least I didn't come across any forager fixed spawns.

Same with my newbie mage - the greedy sucker ate the dagger and staff.

Did you forget one of the items he asks for? I tested this shortly after the quests went in and it worked fine.

Just found the Staff. I'll verify if it's working or not.

i was having the same problem... salanth (npc you hand staff and dagger to) ate both of the items... i finally said screw it hoping there isn't a level cap on this quest as i am now 21 or 22 (got 7 levels last night dont know where i left off). Any of the WR team mind looking into this problem for us Lowbie mages

I got it last night, I'll post what he says tonight when I get home.

I liked the quest - but I think the Staff was a little off for a Mage (Even at that low level). The ring you got (+3% EVO) from the GM after handing in the elemental stones is much better (and will be used for a longer time for my mage) then the staff (10 mana, 2 CHA).

I would suggest taking the ring and having that be the second reward, but that's just my 2 cents.

Is the "sand" Salanth mentions "arcane dust"? I have the other 2 pieces and really don't want to lose them by giving the wrong 3rd component. Hehe.

Never mind, the sand is regular sand off a vendor. I did the quest and got the staff. I like it!

ive been looking for a while and am yet to find Salanth. anybody offer any landmarks or something to guiide me please? im looking mainly in oggok but ive checked a bit in greenmist as well but still cant find him. any help would be apreciated thanks
