Obsidian Gargoyle camp - WTF!?!

So I'm heading to the obsidian gargoyle camp with my mage and a SK to get some of their slabs. I've done this before with my warrior. However when my warrior was getting them there weren't any Pale Bandits hanging around (when were these put in?).

I saw them as I approached. Noted the deep red con from my lvl 40 mage and also the overall unpleasant demeanor. So I stayed away. As I started to attack a gargoyle those pale bandites thought I was too close and aggroed on me. I don't know what level these things are, but they only had to hit my characters twice, each hit was for about ~500. Running over my characters before I could even turn to run. I couldn't even start to think about running away...

WTF?!?! why the hell are these things so close to the Obisian Gargoyle camp. Can they be moved out a little bit so that i can kill gargoyles without having to worry about these things aggroing on me. I already have to look out for hill giants (if they aren't being camped).

Nothing on the wiki about a pale bandit - so what is the purpose of those guys, simply to grief?

I have witnessed this before also when camping the gargs for my warriors starfall as I watched my druid get ripped apart by 4-5 bandits after pulling the garg nearest to them. Is there anyway to move them slightly more away from the gargs as to not agro when standing on the one nearest to them? Or another option is to simply let the bandits take over that cursed area and move the gargs to another spot in the zone

Just kill the gargs at the far end of the camp, where the malevolent garg is. That is what I did. There should be enough spawns that you never have to get down by the pale bandits to risk them. (Unless you are crazy twinked, but then you wouldn't need the starfall stuff.)

There are only 3 bandits, but they will ass-pound you if you play on the left side of the area. Their agro range seems to be a little larger then others. Like Andari said, stay on the right side and you'll be fine. There's more than enough over there to farm your slabs. Just be willing to grind for a bit.
