I was in First Ruins with my mage and wizard killing a mob when an enchanter npc aggroed. He charmed my High Elf wizard and my wizard nuked my mage down. It was actually pretty funny 
Now according to this: http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6421 High Elves should be immune to charm.

Infravision
+20% Mesmerize Resistance
Immune to Charm
Not only are they suppose to be immune to charm but the NPC enchanter used Cajoling whispers which according to this: http://wr.camongrel.de/id:183 that shouldnt have been possible since it has a max of lvl 49. Though I guess like so many things, NPCs operate on different rules.
My main concern are racial traits. Are high elves immune to charm or not?

Oh yeah. If it matters, I had illusion Iksar on.
