Non-Random Disconnects

Last night while in warpstone on my wizard, I was disconnected at regular 20 minute intervals - on the hour, 20 minutes after, and 20 minutes before. This isn't the first time I have noticed such a regular pattern of disconnects, but it was very obvious while playing in warpstone for 4 hours or so with a group. I was wondering if anyone has any insight as to what may have been causing these disconnects, and if it is in my realm of control - what I can do to stop them from happening.

Thanks for any help or advice; and if you need more information about anything, feel free to ask. I'd love to stop these disconnects as even though I have become accustomed to them, removing them would improve play for me :)

On a side note (not as important to me, but interesting), during one of the disconnects I died. When asking what happened upon returning to game, a group member said he got the message "Zarik has been slain by Monikal". Neither of us were flagged for PvP, or dueling, but we were both in the zone. Monikal had disconnected at the same time nearly apparently. I accrued no exp debt, so it was no big deal at all after a rez to return me to warpstone - but it seemed to be an interesting "bug".
 
Dunno about the slain msg, but for your first question, it sounds like you may have a windows update trying to hit.

Consistent items like that sound like a schedule thing. Check if you have windows update enabled, or if you have another schedule item.

Also, try loading irc or another web app that will show if you get dc'd from it. If it happens there too, it's not from eq itself.

But there is a known bug called PLing. It's an hour thing, not a 20/20/40 minute thing.

But just to be clear, you were getting it every 20 minutes before the hour, and every 20 minutes after the hour? So 12:20, 12:40, 1:20, 1:40, 2:20, 2:40, etc, rather than 12:20, 1:40, 3:20, etc, right?
 
It happens at 20 minute intervals, and after playing today, it appears it is not at any specific time. I guess the night I was referring to, I happened to log on at say 5:00 5:20 or 5:40 and it continued to disconnect me at those intervals hourly. Earlier today, it was happening instead at 7 minutes past the hour, 27 minutes past the hour, and 47 minutes past the hour. So whatever is causing it is not sticking to a specific time, but rather simply booting me off within every 20 minutes of logging on.

I never lose connection to other internet games or an unable to access web pages when I get this disconnect. It seems to just be just a disconnect from SoD, but I will test further with other applications.
