No Sound

I just recently had 2 of my RL friends come to SoD, but once they got the game up and running there was no sound, all music, sounds etc on thier desktop worked, volume was up in options, cudn't think of any other problems that would cause this, any idea's?
 
Make sure the sound option is turned ON (box checked) under the OPTIONS from within the EQ Client. I believe mine was OFF by default, I had to turn it on as well.
 
you were right in that it wasn't checked by default, we checked it and thought we had conquered the problem, but nope :( still no sound
