No sound at all

hello everyone. I've heard good things about this server from my 'lil bro and wanted to check it out. Though I be a complete beginner at this game again (it's been about 3 years), please bear with me.

I followed the directions completely as directed in the "start up" page. No crashes, though I don't have sound. at all. I'm wondering if any of you have come across this before and have a few suggestions. I'm so excited to play, and this frustration makes me want to throw things at small children and things that can't fight back or squeak. Thanks for the help!
 
I'm having this same exact problem.. I've done everything right, clicked sound on in the beginning, it's at 100% vol in the game, speakers are on

nothing

i had sound for a bit, then i was running 2 eqws and it suddenly turned off
