Ninja'ing past Yclist gate for a flagged raid

So, a common issue for us is the run back to Yclist for wipe recovery if monks/necros fail.

With succor/evac dropping agro most of the time now I often have no difficulty surviving wipes and twiddling my thumbs at zone in or gating to FoE the runner.

I would request that it not be against the rules to slip through the front gate to rez a raid that has wiped. It would save some much pointlessly wasted time and simply be an ease of use change. The rule seems arbitrary and serves no real purpose.
 
You're asking for permission to run through a locked door without opening it and without a key?

No.

In this situation, though, your guild should get you a key.
 
It seems like the intention of keyed content is to get your raid force keyed, this has clearly been accomplished. What purpose does it serve to have a specific toon required to run back? It is just a time sink.

SoD is very much into using the spirit of the situation to be a guide for what is legal and what isn't as evidenced in the recent raid claiming discussion posts and many other similar things.

You can't sneak into Yclist without a key, so there is no risk of people doing it for profit that didn't have access to a key anyway.

This is very very very much wrong. There IS a way to get past the first gate without content skipping or having a key. Do some exploring.... Take some risks and all will be revealed
 
Are you referring to the front gate in EJ or the first gate requiring the key from ward comes alive inside Yc?
 
it's much more entertaining to shape-shift off the pirahnas with an enchanter. DO IT and you won't be dissapointed

if you do it right you don't have to kill pirahna's.... or maybe this is a bug i need to report?

**edit** but i have managed to kill a couple to see if they dropped r2 pieces
 
STRAT LEAK, You can swim past the piranhas there aggro is short (Tiz is gunna kill me oh god), and the response gotten when petitioned and asked about, "OFFICIAL DEV RESPONSE YOU DO NOT NEED PERMISSION TO SWIM"

oooohhhhh we are sodead. i dont think Tiz reads the forums though
 
Official GM stance on this issue in general: If you can wall hug past a mob's aggro radius without other trickery, then it's fair and not content skipping. No crying if the mob's aggro radius gets changed without anyone telling you, though!

This doesn't apply to that locked gate, though. The piranhas, yes. The locked gate, no.
 
But Tao, one of the racial features of gnomes and halflings is being able to hug past the gate's aggro radius.
