Newport Ring V Trouble

I was doing the 5th newport ring with some friends the other day. The first of us had no trouble getting the head. I cleansed a few worshippers and hailed them, no problem. Then we got mobbed by some 10 creatures or so we kept in root lock, including a handful of worshippers. After we cleared them all, I started to hail the cleansed ones. The first few hails took, and then stopped working. I could no longer cleanse any new worshippers after this. The last member of our brigade started cleansing them, and had no problem completing the quest and getting the head.

Any fix for this?

did you use your ring on worshipers that eventually spawned the head that someone else looted? if so then you basicly gave them your ring5
 
To my knowledge, no one hailed any worshippers I spawned and I hailed none spawned by anyone else. The other two with me spawned their own Althok and looted the head.
