I've applied a change to this part of the initial Newport Ring Series quest. Here's how it will play out now that it's changed:
- Scout Ronfer will no longer stop fighting the gnolls on the final wave.
- a rothide captain no longer drops his unsigned report, and so you're also no longer required to hand the report in.
- If you successfully defend Scout Ronfer from the waves of gnolls, he'll notice his report and pick it up.
- Up to six players can receive his signed report after the completion of each "event".
- Scout Ronfer no longer despawns after the event is over.
These changes should make this step of the quest more group-friendly, since doing it at its intended level pretty much requires a group to complete it.
