I was working on my Newport Ring II quest and was on the part where you deliver the Unmarked Letter to the Guard. On doing this he gave me a duplicate letter with the same name that I was supposed to give to Burt Wellford. I had my letter in the trade window and I was just about to click on trade when he disappeared and didn't give me my letter back and I did NOT click trade. I did however notice that another person ran in to the water and looted the item I was after as well. So, my theory is that the other guy must have been on the same part of the quest as me and was handing his in at the same time. He must have handed his in first while mine was still in the trade window and when he despawned it ate my letter. As for right now I've tried everything I could think of but I ended up putting a petition in which is currently in the que. Sorry for the inconvenience.
